The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 72 senior police officers.
The promotion was part of the decisions of the Commission at its 12th Plenary Meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday, May 26th 2015 and presided by its Chairman Sir Dr. Mike Okiro, a retired Inspector General of Police.
The Commission approved the promotion of 14 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Commissioners of Police after they appeared before the Commissions Plenary and were interviewed.
20 ACPs were promoted to the rank of DCP while two CSPs were promoted to the rank of ACP. Another three CSPs were appointed acting ACP, one SP promoted to CSP.
The Commission also approved the promotion of 30 DSPs to SP, one ASP to the next rank of DSP. One Inspector was appointed acting ASP. The promotions take immediate effect.
