ASP rapes undergraduate detainee

Ntomchukwu

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu has ordered the immediate arrest and detention of an Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP), for allegedly raping an undergraduate of the Federal College of Education while she was in his custody.

The victim, Oluwaseun was said to have been detained and raped at Osiele Police Post, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where the ASP, Mr. John Mafoya was the head of the station.
John was alleged to have brought the girl out from the cell, taken her to his home to rape, returned her back to the cell and later brought her out, to rape her again in his office.
The crime would have gone unknown, but for a police corporal who reported the case the police authority and the Oluwaseun who stealthily used her phone to record the ASP sordid discussions with her.

Oluwaseun is a student of the Federal College of Education.

The arrest and detention of Mafoya occurred after Ntomchukwu received a petition from the father of one of the victims.

The rape of Oluwaseun happened just as another petitioned was received at the police headquarters that Mafoya raped another detainee, Folashade while she was in his custody.

A police source described both victims as Primary Education Studies (PES) students of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta. The ladies accused Mafoya of raping them.

The police source said: “Folashade’s father sent a strongly worded petition to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, alleging that ASP Mafoya abducted and forcefully had canal knowledge of his daughter in the college. The case involving Oluwaseun unfolded after she was detained at Osiele Police Post in April 30, 2015. She was detained because she was involved in a group assault of a Youth Corps Member, Mr. Kareem Oladimeji Alaba. Mr. Alaba was said to have made romantic advances at Oluwaseun during a visit to the Youth Corps member’s residence at Arokoje Village in Abule, Obantoko in Abeokuta.”

The source said that Mafoya for reasons yet unknown, among all those arrested, ordered Oluwaseun to be detained. Around 7pm that same day, he personally took over the case.

“He later brought Oluwaseun out from the cell, drove her to his residence at Alanco in Abeokuta and forcefully had sex with him,” said the source. “Mafoya brought her back to the station. When it was around 10.30 pm, he brought her out again from the cell, took her into his office and raped.”

The following day, colleagues of Oluwaseun raised N3, 000 as bail and got her released.

While the ASP was busy raping the lady, he never knew she recorded his conversations with her on her phone.

It was gathered that the matter would have died a natural death, but for the police corporal, Lukman, stationed at Osiele Police Post who witnessed the incident.

He was said to have gone to report Mafoya to their superior, the Divisional Police Officer at Odeda, Abeokuta, a Superintendent of Police (SP), Mr. Oluwalana.

Oluwalana brought the matter to the attention of Ntomchukwu, who ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.

The source recounted: “On May 11, 2015, SP Oluwalana breezed into the college in Osiele, requesting that Oluwaseun be made available for an interview with the CP. Oluwaseun was accompanied to the police command by one of her college’s security officers. Compol Ntomchukwu ordered the detention of Mr. Mafoya and directed the investigating police officer, Sergeant Johnson, to file his finding within three days.”
