POLICE NAB EIGHT SUSPECTED SECRET CULT MEMBERS IN ABI

Abia State Police Command  disclosed on Monday that it has arrested eight suspected members of two secret cult groups operating in Aba and Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of the state respectively.

The Abia state Commissioner of Police, CP Oyebade Adeleye in an interactive session with newsmen in Aba state that the suspects confessed to be members of Vikings and ABC cult group; that has been so notorious within the Isiala Ngwa axis of the state.

Oyebade who gave the names of the cult members as Prince Nwachukwu, Nnamdi Raymond, Okoronkwo Chikezie and Uchenna Kalu as members of Vikings, while David Adieze, Chinemere Isaac, Chimezie Moses Francis and Okon Effiong all male were identified as members of ABC cult group.

The Abia police boss said that they recovered two locally made Revolver Pistols, 2 rounds of live ammunition, charms amongst other incriminating items from the cult members when policemen at Ndiegoro and Detectives attached to Isiala Ngwa North Divisions took a swoop on the gang members through a tip off.

He further disclosed that efforts were on ground to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and expressed hope that with the successes recorded so far by its officers, the rate of crime within the affected local government areas and their environs would go down.

“One Mighty Monday of Ohanku road Aba, reported at Ndiegoro Police Station Aba that he was robbed of his Nokia Phone valued N5, 500:00, Sandal Slippers valued N8, 000:00 and cash of N2, 000:00 by four armed men. Based on the report, detectives attached to Ndiegoro Police Station Aba swung into action and arrested one Prince Nwachukwu who was identified by the complainant and the said Prince Nwachukwu led to the detectives to a hideout  at Umuba Village Ogbor Hill where the trio of Nnamdi Raymond, Okoronkwo Chikezie and Uchenna Kalu were arrested. The suspects confessed being members of Vikings cult group.

“A locally made pistol and some other stolen items were recovered from the hideout of Sampson Ukeji who is now on the run, but efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspect." Oyebade stated
