Assistant Inspector of Customs killed by police


A serving mobile police officer has shot a Customs officer to death over an undisclosed argument at the Tin Island area of Apapa, wharf, Lagos State.
Eagleonline gathered that the incident happened at the second gate, near Tin Can Island port in Apapa, Lagos.
According to sources in the area, the customs officer, identified as Mr. Orok, an assistant inspector of Customs, allegedly engaged the unidentified MOPOL in an argument.
Though, the cause of the argument, which  sources said later degenerated into an argument could not be ascertained, it was gathered  that the police officer, probably under the influence of alcohol, allegedly pulled out  his rifle and shot the customs officer at close range.
Immediately the policeman shot the Customs officer, he quickly disappeared from the scene by shooting sporadically into the air to debar people from catching him.
Mr. Uche Ejesime, customs public relations officer for zone A command in Ikeja could not be reached for official comment on the incident.
