Barely weeks
that the video of a policeman demanding N25,000 from a motorist in Lagos State,
went viral, another police officer, this time, a woman, had been caught on
video, demanding N100.
The Lagos
State Command had however embarked on investigation on how to unravel the
identity of the woman police officer, whose extortion video was posted on You Tube.
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said that the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko had ordered a full scale investigation, into the extortion video, which like the case of the police officer, Chris Omeleze, has also gone viral in the Internet.
The video caught the woman police jumping agilely into a commercial bus. Once she gained the inside of the bus, she was seen insisting that she must collect N100 from the driver, or else, she would impound the vehicle.
She later stepped out of the commercial bus after the conductor gave her money.
It was gathered that the police command is having trouble; locating the exact spot the video drama took place. It is believed that the woman, is finally identified and located, would likely face dismissal like Omeleze.
It was gathered that all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Divisional Crime Officers, Divisional Traffic officers and the State Traffic Officers have been ordered to watch the video with the view to identify the woman police.
Braide stated that the command will definitely identify the woman police, who according to her, will be made to face the necessary disciplinary action. Braide said: “I have watched the video and all I can tell you is that we have begun investigations into the case. We will tell you the outcome after our investigations.”
