The bloated body of a policeman, identified simply as Inspector
Sapirun, who allegedly jumped into the ocean in Lagos on Tuesday night
has been recovered.
The late Sapirun, who said to be attached to Dan
Ocean Oil Company, according to witnesses, was walking to and fro Ikoyi
Bridge, screaming that he wanted to die. Most people concluded that he
was drunk.
At a point, a witness said, he stood in the middle of the road, but
all motorists avoided him. Another witness, who gave his name as Mr
Chionye Maduka, said: “It happened precisely at 9.08pm on Tuesday.
