Nigeria Prisons Service said six inmates of the Nsukka Prisons, Enugu
State, who escaped during a jailbreak on Monday, had been rearrested.
The state Comptroller of Nigeria Prisons Service, Mr. Isaiah Amali,
confirmed the recapture of the escapees even as he declined to confirm
the total number of prisoners involved in the jailbreak. But a prison
official, who pleaded anonymity, put the figure at 25 and not 15 as
earlier reported.
Amali told journalists in Enugu yesterday that the jailbreak occurred
between 12a.m. and 3a.m. on Monday. He made the disclosure during an
onthe- spot assessment of Nsukka Prisons. Amadi said the service, with
the support from other security outfits, was on the heels of other
fleeing prisoners.https://newtelegraphonline.com/nsukka-jailbreak-six-inmates-recaptured/
