PAKISTANI CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF PAY IGP COURTESY CALL


  ASSURES THE READINESS OF PAKISTAN TO TRAIN AND EQUIP   THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE.

The Chief of Defence staff of Pakistan, Lt. General NAJIB ULLAH KHAN HI (M) on 17TH August, 2016 paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police Ag. IGP Ibrahim K. Idris. The Chief of Defence staff expressed his pleasure for the opportunity to meet the IGP and his management team.  He congratulated the IGP on his recent appointment.

The Lt General appreciated the professional roles being played by the Nigeria Police Force in tackling insurgency in Nigeria and he urged the IGP to sustain the feat as Nigeria is a super power in Africa within the context of security and law enforcement. He equally commended the Nigeria Police Force in its pivotal role in peace keeping operations.
He further sought for maximum cooperation of Nigeria Police Force and Pakistan.  He implored the IGP to send a team of officers to Pakistan to undergo training in specialized areas that can be useful to the country.
In his remarks, the Ag. IGP, Ibrahim Idris expressed delight at the visit and thanked the Chief of Defence staff for paying him a courtesy call. He solicited for the continuous support and cooperation between both countries as regards the fight against terrorism. The IGP stressed that he would be glad if Police counter Terrorism officers and other special police units deployed for counter terrorism operations are exposed to the experience of Pakistan through training and technology transfer.
He assured the Defence Chief of staff that such gesture will go along way to improve the performance of the Nigeria Police Force in the current fight against Terrorism and he further recounted how the Pakistani Special Police Formed Units were very proactive while he was working with the United Nations.
