Generator fume kills inspector, female NSCDC official lover

Ezenifite community at Okpuno in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State over the weekend became a Mecca of sort as many residents of Awka trooped there to behold the bodies of two lovers.

The lovers, a police inspector and an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), reportedly died of carbon monoxide from a generator. The name of the inspector, a father of three, could not be ascertained at press time but the NSCDC official was identified as Ifeoma Okeke, a mother of five.
The two were found dead on the third floor apartment of the police officer. According to neighbours, the family of the late inspector lives in Lagos, while Ifeoma lived with her family in Awka.
It was learnt that Ifeoma had told her husband that she was attending a church vigil, only to end up in her lover’s house, in the nearby community. “The woman spent the night with her police lover, but both did not wake up until a labourer, who was to work for the inspector came in the morning and discovered their bodies.
