Cops, others remanded for killing Police Inspector

A policeman, Francis Onyekwerem of the Ebonyi State Police Command and seven armed bandits were Thursday remanded in Abakaliki Federal Prisons for killing a policeman in the state, Sergeant Solomon Ariom.

Onyekwerem  “M” 50 years, Chigozie Enuta “M” 38 years, Ngele NwadiUche “M” 24 years, Ifeanyi Ibe “M” 28 years, Osondu Ede “M” 31 years, Moses Oketa “M” 30 years, Nkama Nnate “M” 44 years, and Christian Chinedu Ogba “M” 30 years and others at large on 8th April 2016 at Abakaliki in Abakaliki Magisterial district did unlawfully kill one Sergeant  Solomon “M” by shooting him on his body with an Ak47 rifle and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 33 Vol. 1 Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria 2009.”
In the second count charge, the Police alleged that the accused persons and others at large on April 8, 2016 at Abaklaiki Magisterial District did arm themselves with an Ak47 rifle and robbed one Sergeant Solomon Ariom, a police officer attached to DPOs Ebonyi State Command of one AK47 rifle with 20 rounds of ammunition, value of property robbed, four hundred and fifty thousand naira and thereby committed an offence punishable under  section 1 (2) (a) of the Robbery and fire arms special provision Act 2004 laws of the Federation of Nigeria.https://newtelegraphonline.com/cops-others-remanded-killing-police-inspector/
