Detectives attached to Moroko Police Station, Lekki, Lagos State,
have arrested a suspected armed robber, moments after he robbed a lady.
The suspect, Daniel Sunday, told policemen that he resided at Odunsi Street, Bariga area.
Sunday was arrested on Tuesday after the police received a distress call that a lady had been robbed on Elegushi Road, Lekki.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos,
who confirmed the incident, explained that the screaming of the victim,
calling for help, attracted attention.
According to Badmos, policemen on patrol, led by the Divisional
Police Officer (DPO), in charge of Moroko Police Station, a
Superintendent of Police (SP), Abdulmajid Isa, were said to have raced
to the scene and arrested Sunday.
She said: “A locally-made single-barrelled pistol and the victim’s
handbag, which contained her phone with N14,600, were recovered from the
suspect.
