Suspected Boko Haram member held in Lagos

Detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have started quizzing a suspected Boko Haram member.

The suspect, Mubaudeen Sadique, was arrested at the Igando area of Lagos yesterday evening, in full military camouflage uniform, long beards and turban.
The suspect confessed to being from Kwara State. But his story leaves so many loopholes. He claimed to have attended Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA), being a hunter and an agriculturist. He also refused to state where and how he got his military camouflage uniform.
Eye witnesses said Sadique was about to be lynched by the suspicious soldiers, when policemen on patrol duty, rescued him. The soldiers believed the suspect is a Boko Haram because of his dressing.
He was in full military camouflage uniform and turban. The soldiers said that was the manner Boko Haram members used to dress.
The suspect however denied being a member of Boko Haram.  He described himself as soldier of God.
A police source said: “He said he’s not Boko Haram member, just a soldier of God. Soldiers confronted him, but he denied being Boko Haram. We heard that the soldiers wanted to kill him, when police rescued him. He said that he attended NDA; he’s a hunter and an agriculturist. When he was asked where he got his military uniform, he said he had been using it for long. He was dressed like Boko Haram member. He was in full military uniform, turban and long beards. No rifle was recovered from him.”
