Motorcyclist arraigned for killing man with stone



 An Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court 6, has ordered that Mr. Dapo Ologunde be remanded in prison pending a substantive legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Ologunde was charged for killing one Ishola Bamidele, 34, by hurling a huge stone on his head after a brief quarrel.
The incident took place on October, 4 at A.A Rano Deport Junction, Ibasa, Satellite Town, Lagos.
According to Prosecutor, Inspector D. Ighodalo, Ologunde , a commercial motorbike rider, had alighted at the said junction, after packing his motorcycle.
He was accosted by Bamidele, a security employee at A.A Rano deport, who ordered him to remove his motorcycle.
Ologunde was said to have been defiant which led to an intense argument between him and the deceased.  
Ologunde, however, was said to have left the scene for about 25 minutes, to return, this time to fight. He carried a huge concrete stone and hurled it at Bamidele’s head, leading to his death. His death was confirmed by Doctors at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
Ologunde was arrested by policemen from Agboju Police Station before the matter was transferred to State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba.
Magistrates, Mr. A .Elias said the matter is a murder case and must be passed to DPP for legal advice. He asked that the prosecutor provide the case file and DPP’s advice on the next adjournment, which is November, 22, 2016.
