Arepo: Vandals kidnapped 9 policemen —Investigation •Figure not yet confirmed —PPRO

INVESTIGATION, on Tuesday, revealed that nine policemen were kidnapped on Saturday last week by pipeline vandals at Arepo, during a gun duel between the police and the vandals, which resulted into explosion.
Nigerian Tribune, on Monday, reported that two policemen attached to the Inspector General of Police Special Anti-Vandalism Team were abducted, while two others were killed by the vandals.

A top security source told the Nigerian Tribune in a chat that the abducted policemen were nine but not two as widely circulated in the media.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, could not confirm the actual figure of the kidnapped policemen.
“A lot of our men have been trapped in the incident, but I cannot confirm the figure to you. I am not the one that led the team, so I cannot tell you if they are nine or not.”
