A grief-stricken father is presently trying to explain to Homicide detectives, at the State Criminal Investigations Department, (SCID), Panti, Yaba, why be beat his son to death.
But preliminary investigations carried out by the detectives revealed that the man, Mr. Bright, living at No.6. Olarewaju Street, Oregun, Ikeja, allegedly hit his son’s head with an iron belt for stealing the sum of N1000.
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident, added that it happened on May, 26, 2014.
According to her, the victim was rushed to Divine Private Hospital at Lawal Street Oregun, but was confirmed dead on arrival.
“The corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Mortuary for autopsy. The case is now under investigation at State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba,” said Braide.
