I make money wearing military uniform – Fake female soldier
Men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a middle-aged woman, Angela Omieh, for parading herself as a soldier. The suspect was accused of being in possession of military uniform, police extract and sworn affidavit for the loss of her military identity card.
The Public Relations Officer of the Artillery Brigade, Captain Ademola Adegoke, who paraded the suspect yesterday, said she was arrested following a report by her boyfriend.

According to him, Omieh, who resides in Mile 3, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was upon investigation and search discovered to be in possession of military kits, two pairs of camouflage, camouflage T-shirt and shorts, one pair of desert boots, one jungle hat and three handsets.
Adegoke said the suspect had earlier claimed to be a soldier attached to the 149 Battalion but deployed to Joint Task Force, Warri for her military duty.
He explained that Omieh’s boyfriend, Mr Collins Jegede, had narrated how he met the suspect on social network where she dressed in a military outfit.
The boyfriend added that he got interested, requested for friendship and later the fake soldier paid him a visit in January 2014 in full military uniform.
Jegede was also said to have reciprocated the visit but was surprised that Omieh lodged him in a hotel at Ijaye axis of Lagos State instead of 149 Battalion, Ojoo Military Barracks where she had claimed to work and reside.
However, the lady was said to have made another visit on April 17 and Jegede reported her to the officer in charge of a military checkpoint at Owo, on the suspicion that she was a fake soldier. Omieh said she bought the military uniforms from Army Depot in Zaria, Kaduna State following her father’s death in 2011.
The suspect said she attended the Nigerian Army School in Zaria but opted out when she had injuries. She added that she could not continue when her father died and decided to buy the military outfits with which she travels to Cotonou for ‘businesses’. Omieh, however, said she started using the military outfits this year.
