Couple arrested for beating house help to death

The Pen-Cinema Police Station, Agege, Lagos State, has arrested a couple who allegedly beat their 12-year-old houseboy to death.

The incident was said to have occurred on May, 27, 2014 at about 20:30pm, at the Pen-Cinema area of Agege.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Obiefule were alleged to have pounced and beaten 12 year old Onyedikachi Mbanozo, to death for offences yet to be ascertained.

Confirming the incident, Police Spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said: “The Divisional Police Officer in-charge Pen- Cinema Division, while on patrol with his policemen received an anonymous call. The caller said that a man by name Paul Obiefule, residing at No.22, Omitola Street, Agege and his wife, had beaten a boy living with them, named Onyedikachi Mbanozo to death.”

Braide explained that on receipt of the information, the police patrol vehicles moved to the scene and brought the suspects and the deceased to the station for a detailed investigation.

She added that the case is currently under investigation at Pen Cinema Division.
