Bird transforms to woman: She’s our mother, two men told police

Two men, who claimed to be biological children of the old woman who transformed into a bird on Wednesday, yesterday went to Area 'B' Police Command, Apapa,  Lagos State, attempting to explain how their mother 'vanished' from the apartment.
According to a police source, the two men said that the woman is their mother and lives with them at Iju-Ishaga area.
The source said: “The men claimed that they were looking for their mother who left home without informing them. They said they were surprised to read in the pages of newspapers that they saw her in Ajegunle where she turned from a bird to a woman.
“The men said they never know their mother to be a witch and wondered why people spread such rumour about her.”
A police inspector revealed that the Assistant Commissioner of Police, of the Apapa Command, (ACP) Ndubueze Innocent Anene has moved the woman to the state police command headquarters, Ikeja, for further investigation.
The inspector also said that the two men, who claimed to be her sons, followed them to the command.
The 'strange' woman was said to have transmogrified from a bird to an old woman at Okoya, in Ajegunle area of the metropolis - an act which attracted hundreds of spectators around her.
The traditional ruler of Layeni community, Bale Rafiu Olayemi said that he did not believe that the woman turned from bird to human being.
Olayemi, who said it was impossible, added that he had to rescue the woman from the crowd before they could lynch her.
Olayemi said he called the Divisional Police Officer of Layeni Police Station, CSP Chijioke Ndu, who quickly led a team of police team and moved the old woman to the station.
The station became a mecca of sort as spectators besieged the station, hoping to catch a glimpse of the woman.
