Police in
Edo State have arrested a 35-year old man, Ibrahim Adamu, for allegedly
shaving the pubic hair of a 25-year-old woman, Jumai Jasper, while
sleeping in his room. But the suspect said he did shave Jasper’s pubic
hair for any ritual purpose.
The state Police Commissioner, Samuel Adegbuyi, paraded Adamu and 27 others at the state police command headquarters yesterday. Adegbuyi said the suspect lured the victim “into his room, shaved her armpit hair and her pubic hair without her consent.”
