LAWMA cleaner dies after trailer crushes legs



A female cleaner, attached to Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has died after a tanker, loaded with fuel crushed her two legs, along Ikorodu Road, Ojota, Lagos State.
The woman, identified as Kikelomo Bamidele was said to have been on duty along the expressway, when the DAF tanker, marked NSR593, loaded with PMS, appeared from nowhere and rammed into her, crushing her two legs.
The accident which happened on Wednesday saw some of the passersby, weeping silently.

Confirming the incident, police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said that the tanker was driven by one Ubale Mohammed, from Nasarawa Local Government
Area, Kano State.
Braide added: “The driver lost control and crushed the two legs of Bamidele Kikelomo, a cleaner with Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The tanker also hit one Mercedes Benz C300 with registration number, KSF 800 AZ. The Benz car was driven by a lady, identified as Olutiti Ekumola.
“Kikelomo was rushed to Lagos State Accident and Emergency Unit where she later died. The corpse has
been deposited at Mainland Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The incident is under investigation at Ojodu Division.”
