  • Police rescue three children from kidnappers
Police are still trying to unravel the mystery behind the death of a family of seven in Lagos. The body of the head of the family, an employee of Nigerian Brewery Plc, identified as Etim Edet, was found along with those of his wife and five children in their apartment at Bagido area of Ijede.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident, said it occurred about 4pm on May 1.


She said: “Edet was found dead with his wife and five children on their beds at his residence at Bagido area of Ijede.
No sign of violence was seen on their bodies. “They were suspected to have died from generator fumes. The decomposed corpses have been removed to Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The incident is under investigation at Ijede Division.” Also policemen attached to the Ojo Police Station have rescued three children from suspected kidnappers. Braide, who also confirmed the incident, said the policemen acted on tip-off and arrested one Iheanachor Collins of unknown address at CTU Point Iyana-Iba, with three male children allegedly abducted from one Iyabo Lawal at Ojo area of Lagos.
She said: “The children were rescued and handed over to their parents. The case is now under investigation at Ojo Division.”
