Again, ritual killers' den uncovered in Lagos

Officials of the Lagos State Central Business Districts Enforcement Unit has uncovered and dislodged another suspected ritual killers’ allegedly operating under Onikan Stadium Bridge.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business Districts, Mr Olarenwaju Elegushi, said the hideout was similar to previous criminal and ritual killers’ hideouts discovered in some parts of the state some months ago by the police.
According to him, the criminals’ den was uncovered few metres from Army flag House and the State House in Marina. He added that the enforcement operation was sequel to the Governor’s directives to clear the area of refuses, which had gathered under the bridge.
Elegushi said: “We received the Governor’s directives to clear the area of refuses and debris, which had accumulated overtime. In the course of carrying out the directives, we discovered the place, which had been under surveillance for long. Criminal activities like rape and robbery take place there.”
He disclosed that the Office of the Special Adviser on CBD will leave no stone unturned to dislodge criminals on the Lagos Island and make the Island business district safe for businesses.
Elegushi, who said that no arrest was made, disclosed that items like charms and weapons were recovered from under the bridge. He said that police authority and army settlement close to the area had been notified of the discovery for necessary action.
