The Kebbi
State Commissioner of Police Kabir Ibrahim has said that its command has
arrested a total number of 291 alleged suspects.
Ibrahim
said the suspects were held for robbery, kidnapping and cattle rustling.
Ibrahim
said that the suspects were arrested during raids of criminal hideouts in
various parts of the state.
Ibrahim
added: "At least 224 of the suspects had been charged to court, 201 convicted and
17 of them are still awaiting trial.”
He stated
that to check and bring down heinous crimes such as armed robbery, homicide,
kidnapping, cattle rustling and other offences in the state, the command
designed new strategies, which had been yielding result.
He
enjoined members of the public to furnish police with useful information, which
would help the command to track down criminal elements in the state.
