Five men gang-rape 21-year-old girl

Police in Ogun State said yesterday that they had arrested five persons who allegedly gangraped a 21-year-old woman (name withheld) in Sagamu area of the state. The incident occurred at the Sagamu Palace Hotel on Wednesday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that two other accomplices were now in police net. It was gathered that the rapists lured their victim to the hotel on the pretext that one of them, who was said to be her boyfriend, was celebrating his birthday.

It was, however, learnt that the suspects whose ages range between 22 and 24, recorded the sexual intercourse on video as they took turns to rape her. Adejobi told our correspondent that the police command had begun investigation into the matter.
The PPRO said the suspects had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, adding that they would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
