Don’t allow our children die in vain – Parents of kids found dead on church premises

There is still apprehension within the Olambe community of Akute in Ogun State following the recovery of two dead kids on a church premises recently. ISIOMA MADIKE, who has been following the story, noticed when Saturday Telegraph visited the area that some residents of the neighbourhood have started moving out of the vicinity with their families to avoid what they termed a strange occurrence in their midst
Matogun, a sleepy urban village, in the Olambe area of Akute, Ogun State, has been in the news freshly for all the wrong reasons.
Two children, Isaac Ayegbo, a seven-year-old primary two pupil, and Ayomide Innocent, four, and in nursery one, were declared missing on Sunday, April 3.
They were last seen playing at 4pm on that fateful Sunday and by 6.30pm of same day, they had vanished. Their lifeless bodies were later recovered on the third day by the police from Christ Crusaders’ Deliverance Ministry’s camp ground.
The church is only a few metres away from the residence of the parents of the kids. Since the grim murder, sleep, it appears, has taking flight as the inhabitants of this modest neighbourhood have continued to hug fear for comfort. And the mystery of the scary occurrence is still confounding to reason.
On Wednesday when Saturday Telegraph visited the homes of the children’s parents, family members, friends and sympathisers were seen comforting them. They gathered in groups; some with red eyes, others wore gloomy faces, raining curses to no one in particular.
