Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested four
fuel marketers in Kano State for allegedly diverting 55,000 litres of
Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise called petrol worth N4.7 million.
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Kano State has been
accused of refusing to act even when fuel marketers sell at over 200 per
litre.
The EFCC Public Relations Officer (PRO), North-West Zone, Mrs.
Nana-Fatima Abubakar, disclosed the arrest while conducting journalists
round the filling station where the commodity was diverted to at Laraba
Abasawa in Gezawa Local Government Area.
She said the commission had since got a court order to dispose of the
product to members of the public at government- approved price.
Abubakar said the discovery was made by operatives of the commission who
were on routine surveillance of petrol stations in parts of the state.http://newtelegraphonline.com/efcc-arrests-marketers-diverting-n4-7m-fuel/
