Queen’s College old students plotting principal’s ouster –PTA

• Allegation is an insult, say old girls

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the leadership of teachers’ union at Queen’s College, Yaba, Lagos, have accused the 1979 set of Old Girls Association of plotting the removal of the incumbent Principal, Dr. Lami Amodu.

At a briefing yesterday, which held in Yaba, the Chairman of the PTA, Mrs. Beatrice Akhetuamen, accused the old students of being behind the allegation of sexual harassment against a teacher in the college, Mr. Olaseni Osifala. Akhetuamen said the intention was to soil the image of the college and lobby the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita Ekanem, an old girl of the school, to appoint another old girl in replacement of the new principal. The PTA chair said their grouse against the new principal, who resumed in office barely six months ago, was that she was not an old girl of the school.
