Men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ogun State have
arrested a fake Superintendent of Police, George Oliseh, with 10 bags of
weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
Oliseh, a 64-year-old father of 23,
was intercepted in Sagamu with a Toyota Camry car marked: Abuja RSH 101
RE and loaded with the weeds.
Apart from the fake police officer, two dismissed policemen
identified as Sunday Ekanem and Victor Marepokai were arrested during
separate operations in the state.
Briefing journalists yesterday at the
state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of
Police, Abdulmajid Ali, disclosed that 35 other suspects were arrested
for criminal offences, including armed robbery, impersonation, cultism,
murder and fraud. Ali said some of the suspects were nabbed with guns,
cutlasses, expended cartridges, assorted charms and laptop computers,
among other exhibits.
