Family members of the abducted Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese
of Otukpo, Very Reverend Fr. John Adeyi, who was kidnapped last Sunday
by unknown gunmen, Thursday appealed to his captors to release him
unharmed.
Palpable fear has gripped residents of Otukpo, homestead of former
Senate President, David Mark over the rising crime wave in the area
especially five days ago after the clergy was abducted and a N10 million
ransom demanded as a condition for his release.
As at the time of filing this report, Rev. Fr. Adeyi was still in the
hands of the captors who also confiscate his mobile phones thus
rendering him incommunicado with his people until the amount demanded is
paid.
