Driver rapes twin sisters, offers N20,000 for abortion

A 30-year old driver, Samuel Adebayo has appeared before an Ikeja magistrates court on Thursday for raping, teenage twin sisters . He also offered N20,000 to procure abortion on one of the twins, he impregnated in the process.

Adebayo, resides on Berckley Estate , in Abule Egba area of Lagos, where he repeatedly raped the two Sisters, aged 17. A case he pleaded not guilty.
It was learnt that Adebayo who resides in the same compound with the twin sisters, normally takes advantage of some electronic gadgets, he had on the pretext of watching movies to lure the sisters differently into his room while at the same time, he will forcefully have carnal knowledge of them.
Prosecutor, Raphael Donny, a Police Sergeant told the Court that the defendant committed the offence in December 2016 in the compound where he resides together with the twins.
“The accused raped the girls on different occasions and in the process, one of them got pregnant . he then gave her N20,000 to terminate the pregnancy , but in a twist the girl confided her pregnancy to her elder sister, who in turn told their mother. The case was reported at the Police Station , while the accused was apprehended and brought to court”.
According to the charge sheet, the offence contravenes Section 147(1) and 259 of Criminal Law of Lagos State.
Magistrates , Mrs. Davis Abegunde admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case till June 5 for mention.
