Justice Muslim Sule Hassan of
a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the
sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000(about N13billion) recovered
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Flat 7B,
Osborne Towers, 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos to the Federal
Government.
The judge made the order because no one has laid claim to the money. The judge equally dismissed
an application by a Lagos-based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, asking that
further proceedings in the matter be stayed pending when a probe panel
set up by President Muhammadu Buhari will submit its findings on the
cash.https://newtelegraphonline.com/2017/06/court-orders-final-forfeiture-recovered-n13bn-fg/
