Evans killed our member, took over his wife -Member

…Evans: It’s a lie!
*162 phone lines traced
* Mother runs to Bayelsa State
* Police: We’re not aware of N30m bounty on Evans

The police, yesterday, disclosed that it has traced addition 36 phone lines to Nigerian billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike, aka Evans, after earlier narrowing down 126.

This brings Evans phone lines, which he uses for operation to 162.
According to police source, out of the 162 phone lines, Evans had a dedicated line to four persons. These persons are those close to his heart.
When police scrutinized the dedicated phone line, they discovered that he uses it to call only his friend, sister, mother and Amaka, his favourite mistress.
Amaka is said to be the wife of a gang member, who died in the course of ‘duty’ and Evans took over her and her children. Although he had four mistresses including, Amaka, but the woman, who already had children for her for her late husband, was the only mistress he calls on the dedicated phone line.
One of Evans’ gang members, Nwosu Chikodi Chukwuma aka Skudo, however, told investigators that Amaka’s husband didn’t die during operation, but was killed by Evans. When Evans was asked, he denied the allegation.
IRT operatives have also discovered that Evans’ Thuraya’s phone, valued at N2.4, defies tracking and tracing.
The suspect told police that the Thuraya phone, which doesn’t makes use of SIM card and only works with satellite, was his preferred phone for usage during negotiation for ransom.
Detectives revealed that the phone is the type used by the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekaru and other terrorists to evade tracking and arrest.
A police source: “The Thuraya phone can’t be tracked. It can get signal anywhere, either under the sea or jungle. It works with satellite and it doesn’t make use of SIM card.
On Wednesday, the New Telegraph went Evan’s family home, in Nnewi, Anabra State, where her brother, claimed not to know her whereabouts.
Yesterday, police disclosed that it has narrowed their search for the woman to Bayelsa State. The police source noted that the woman bolted to Bayelsa State after hearing about the arrest of her son.
As police continued to dig out Evans’ criminal activities, they have discovered that his wife, also from Anambra State, is a sister a kidnapper kingpin, killed in Anambra State. It was gathered that rocket launchers were found in his home and government also demolished his building.
The officer in charge of the Inspector General of Police Special Response Team (IRT), Mr Abba Kyari, who led in the hunt and arrest Evans, said: “Evans almost got away with his crimes. No criminal has given me this kind of headache in my career. Not even the case of Godogodo or Vampire. I hardly sleep. Even when I’m in the toilet, I would be analysing over 100 numbers, checking out those he had conversations with. What we have gathered is like a book now. But the case was a hard nut to crack until we found something interesting in one particular number. Out of the all the phone lines, it was the only number that he was using to communicate with family members in Nnewi. We followed up on that, and he was nailed.”
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, before the arrest, said placed an N30million bounty on Evans. According to him, the bounty placement was made on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
Yesterday, the New Telegraph made moves to find out the person that would collect the bounty since Evans had been arrested.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Jimoh Moshood, reacting to the question, denied knowledge of a N30 million bounty the Police placed on Evans.
When New Telegraph made enquiry on what the position of the Police was, in the face of Evans' arrest, Moshood asked: "Where did you see that? I'm not aware of that announcement."
Pressed further, the FPRO said: "You need to find out which IG did that. I'm not aware; it's not to my knowledge."
