Police disguise as buyer to arrest alleged skull seller



The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritual killer for possessing a human skull.
The suspect, Mr Lucien Tosume 45, was arrested on June 4, 2017, after an intelligence report on Iraye village in Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The Lagos State Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said that Tosume specialized in the sale of human skull.
He added that the suspect was accosted by police officers who disguised as buyers.


Famous-Cole said: “Upon negotiation, the suspect agreed to sell a skull for N150, 000, but the officers convinced him to sell it for N81, 000 which he agreed. The suspect was arrested immediately the money was paid to him. The suspect confessed to the crime. He also said that he sells fresh skulls for up to for N1 million.”
According to Famous-Cole, investigations were ongoing to ascertain where Tosume got the human part.  Famous-Cole noted that the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCIS), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation. He advised members of the public and parents to keep a watchful eye on children and know their whereabouts at all time.
In another development, the command on June 12, 2017 arrested six suspected robbers, allegedly terrorising the Agbara road, Atan-Ota of Ogun and Lagos states. 
 

Famous-Cole, who confirmed the arrest, said that at about 05:45hrs, operatives, while on patrol sighted some hoodlums at Progress Hotel, situated at Agbara road.
These hoodlums allegedly specialized in robbery, snatching of vehicles, handbags and other valuables from their victims.
He said: “Operatives swiftly moved to the scene and apprehended the hoodlums. Items recovered from them are one knife, one locally made pistol and one live cartridge. We also recovered a Peugeot 206 with no registration number, green in colour, which they used for robbery operations.
The image maker identified the suspects as  Lawal Sikini, Segun Seda, Lanre Bello, Lawal Mayowa, Azeez Mustapha and Tijani quryum.
Famous-Cole noted: “ The suspects have made confessional statement and are now giving useful information to the police. Investigation is ongoing and effort is on to arrest other gang members.”
