Politician’s daughter abducted four days to birthday

The 19-year-old daughter of Mr. Bode Adeosun, an All Progressives Congress, (APC) Councillorship Aspirant, Odi Olowo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

The girl, identified as Bukola, was abducted on Tuesday around 9pm at Ilupeju area of the metropolis when she went out to buy fish for her mother.
Bukola and her younger sister were said to have been sent to buy the fish by their mother. The victim’s sibling was said to have gone in with the fish seller to collect balance of their money, came to discover that Bukola was nowhere to be seen.
The kidnappers were alleged to have ordered the girl into their Black Toyota Camry car.
Bukola younger sister, after coming out of the house where she went to collects balance, thought her aunt had gone back home.  She also went home only to find out Bukola was also not at home.
The victim’s distraught father, Adeosun, said that members of the community joined them in the frantic search for Bukola.
Adeosun said: “I was returning from a meeting when I received a phone call from my wife that our daughter had been abducted. I rushed home and saw a crowd in my house. They were assisting my wife in the search for our daughter. After we returned home around 1:39am, I received a phone call from a strange person, telling me that my daughter was in their custody. The caller said that I would hear from them again and hung up.”
Adeosun added: “It was then I knew my daughter had been abducted. Since then, I have not heard from the kidnappers.  I don’t know what my daughter is going through right now and my fear is that they shouldn’t rape her.
“My daughter was abducted four days to her birthday. She would have been 20. I hope this is not how my political opponent wants to get back at me. They know they would lose in the forthcoming election.”
A resident, Mr Kunle Ajayi, said that the abduction of Bukola was strange because such had never happened in the community.
Ajayi said: “We’re appealing to the police to rescue the girl on time. God shouldn’t let Bukola’s case to be like that of the Epe students. I believe in God; I believe she would be rescued. The kidnappers have not demanded for any ransom. But we don’t want to take any chance. We are appealing to the Lagos State Government to assist us in the rescue.”
The matter was reported at Ilupeju Police station.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole said the girl was missing, not abducted. He noted that the matter had been reported to the police and that investigation is ongoing.
