Jonathan, Buhari cannot save Nigeria-General Overseer

John

The General Overseer of The Way, The Truth, The Life Tabernacle Church, located at Caaso area of Alagbado, Lagos State, Reverend George Chukwuma John, has been described by many as controversial.
His church believes in doctrine of predestination. John once said in an interview that, “Cain and Abel were born by two different men.” This means Eve was unfaithful to Adam.

However in this present discussion, John said that no matter who wins the forthcoming elections, it would not change the dire socio-economic, political and security situation in the country.
According to him, Nigeria is cursed and needs more than desperate politicians to heal it.
He said: “The issue is that over 90 percent of politicians going for different positions are not sincere! They’re there for selfish interest and because of that interest, they can promise voters anything. My only urge, is that these contesting politicians should fear God.  But even if anybody wins and comes in as president, it won’t change the situation of Nigeria. Nigeria is a cursed nation! I’ve said it several times on Television. Ministers who say they see light coming to Nigeria are lying! There are things that made God to curse this country. I have mentioned it several times.”
John said that four things made God to curse Nigeria, adding that God is angry with Nigeria. “It was because of the four major things that happened in the Nigeria that made God to curse our country. Nigeria is a blessed country. It would have been one of the richest nations. Every person would have own a home today.”
He said that Nigerian leaders were desperate for power and once they attain it, usually looted the treasury. He opined that many people were ready to kill to become ‘president.’
“When they do that, how can God be with them? Some of them tell lies and tarnish the names of other people,” said John
Asked if he would not vote for a man who could stop Boko Haram and subsequently the killings, John charged: “Listen let me tell you, if any man says he will quell Boko Haram, the man should come and tell Nigerians his relationship with Boko Haram! One, you can’t stop Boko Haram except you know what they’re doing.  Boko Haram is a religious issue. If Boko Haram is fighting against a Christian president and a Muslim takes over and Boko Haram ceases, then people should ask questions. Is the person behind Boko Haram? If such a person has a solution to Boko Haram, why doesn’t he stop Boko Haram before becoming president? Let him bring the initiative, after all, we are one Nigeria. A good leader should be able to show us how he would work before stepping to the seat of power.”
Stressing there could be another major problem if a Muslim takes over as president and quells Boko Haram, John said: “If Boko Haram stops, the other man’s people may revolt, and no one should blame them. The circle will continue. It’s a spiritual thing. God is allowing Satan to manipulate this country because Nigeria is a cursed nation.”
Questioned on whether the election would be filled with violence, John said God had not told him anything about that. He however added: “But I know that because of Christians, God will intervene.  I’m not supporting anybody; all I’m saying is that anybody who is the president of the country should be given the maximum support in order to move this country forward.”
Asked what Nigerians can do to overcome the so called curse on Nigeria, the pastor said it was a discussion for another day, pointing out, “Before you talk of solution to a problem, you must first talk about the problems. It’s not something we should be in a hurry to discuss. We need to know the causes of the curse.”
