Two brothers, five others killed, baby abducted as thugs clash



Seven people were killed, including two brothers and a baby abducted after some political thugs clashed at the Ajegunle area of Lagos State on Tuesday.


Residents claimed that the thugs snatched a new born baby from its mother and robbed people of their valuables at Layinka, Oduduwa and Arumoh streets. 
They also killed two brothers, Idris and Abeeb. Aside from the two brothers, five other people were killed.

A shoot out was said to have occurred and area turned to a war zone after two opposing political thugs clashed. While some attacked with machetes, other deployed guns.

A resident, Kayode who said he witnessed the incident said that the thugs also robbed at Imam, Aro, Market and Olumokun streets, among others.  Kayode said that the two brothers were killed at Olowojeunjeje junction of Oduduwa Street.

One Taiye, said: "Two among the victims were killed at Imam Street, Amukoko, while another corpse was brought to Amukoko Police Station yesterday afternoon.”

According to one Francis, the hoodlums shattered the windows of his hotel at Oduduwa Street and inflicted injuries on two of his workers. 

The acting divisional police officer, Ajegunle Police Station, Mr. Augustine Chime, along with some of his men, raced to the scene and dispelled the rampaging youths.

Another witness, Benjamin said: “Women who ran to pick their children from schools were trapped in the shootout as they scampered for safety. Traders abandoned their shops and took to their heels.”
