PVC: Immigration arrests foreigners posing as Nigerians

Authority of the Nigerian Immigration Services said it has arrested some foreigners posing as Nigerians at registration units and recovered Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) from them.

The Controller of Immigration, Lagos State Command, Mrs. Justina Ahmedu said such suspects would be repatriated immediately.
According to her, foreigners of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) had no business in the election even though they reside in the country.
She disclosed that some Ghanaians had been arrested for such offence and PVC recovered from them
She added that some immigration officers went undercover, moving from different registration centres, where they nabbed these foreigners.

She vowed: “This raid will continue! Our officers will continue going to registrations centres to keep eyes on foreigners who want to collect the PVC. This election is strictly for Nigerians. If we come across them, we will be left with no other option than to arrest and repatriate them. Already, we have some Ghanaians in our custody that will be repatriated immediately!”
