Unknown
gunmen yesterday kidnapped the wife of a member of the Ogun State House of
Assembly, Samson Onademuren.
Mrs. Folasade Onademuren was said to have been abducted about noon while inspecting her husband’s on-going building project along Lewu Street, Obalende, Ijebu-Ode.
The Nigerian Compass gathered that the gunmen, numbering about four, whisked away the lawmaker's wife in an unmarked white Opel Astra car.
She was said to be in company of a female friend when the incident happened.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. Adejobi, however, said the police command had began investigation into the matter.
He added that the Police Commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye, was at the crime scene to strategise on the rescue of the victim.
"We urge the public to assist in giving the police useful information that will lead to her rescue as soon as possible," Adejobi stated.
