Policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested
some suspects, who used to lure desperate university admission seekers
into cultism.
Some of the admission seekers said they were not even
aware that their supposed ‘elder brothers’ in their neigbourhood were
going to initiate them into cultism.
One of the detectives said: “Some
of these boys were told that they would be assisted to gain admissions
into any higher institutions if they accepted to become a cultist. After
becoming a cult member, they would assist them to gain admission into
any of the universities, polytechnics or colleges of education in
Nigeria.
Once they are in the campus, they would be expected to lure other
students into the group. And thus, the circle continues.”
