An Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court in Lagos presided over by Mrs.
Folashade Botokun yesterday put on hold proceedings in the murder case
involving Corporal Museliu Aremu, who allegedly killed a mother of four,
Mrs. Comfort Idongseit Ekpo. Neither Aremu nor his defense counsel
appeared during the sitting yesterday.
In September last year, Ekpo was returning from church with her
husband, Godwin and four children inside their tricycle, when Aremu and
some policemen on duty on Isheri-Oshun Road in Lagos accosted them and
demanded money. But because Godwin refused to offer them money, the
suspect fired into the tricycle and killed the woman instantly.
