Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, Mr. Henry Fadairo, said
about 3,978 policemen serving in the state had been promoted to various
ranks.
Fadairo, who spoke while decorating some of the promoted officers in
Calabar yesterday, said their promotion was approved by the Inspector
General of Police, Solomon Arase, in conjunction with the Police Service
Commission (PSC).
He said: “Out of the number, 22 are newly promoted senior officers
while 3,956 are in the rank and file category. Sixteen senior officers
were promoted from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
“Also, one officer was promoted from the rank of Deputy
Superintendent of Traffic to Superintendent of Traffic while five
officers in the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Traffic were
elevated to Deputy Superintendent of Traffic.”
