About 35 persons were arrested in the residence of a former militant
leader, Soboma Jackrich, popularly known as Egberipapa, at Buguma
community, the headquarters of Asari Toru Local Government Area of
Rivers State.
The raid was conducted by policemen attached to the Special
Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), anti-cultism unit, 19 Police Mobile Force
(PMF) and 56 PMF in Rivers State.
The police discovered arms, ballot papers and other dangerous
weapons. The raid was said to be carried out at 4a.m. on yesterday by
policemen, who stormed “a notorious criminal’s hideout in Buguma”.
