A suspected fake lawyer, Adeleye Balogun, is now in police custody in
Ogun State for N140,000 alleged fraud. Balogun, 47, was allegedly
parading himself as a trained lawyer in Otta in Ado-Odo/Ota Local
Government Area of the state.
But he was nabbed by police detectives on
Monday after a complainant reported the activities of the suspect to the
Divisional Police Officer in charge of Otta.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi,
confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to journalists in
Abeokuta, the state capital. Adejobi said the suspect, who had been
practising at a popular chamber in Otta for over a decade, had already
confessed to the crime.
