A Nasarawa State University graduate of Computer Science, Habib Ajadi
(30), who specialised in luring female students of the Ladoke Akintola
University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, into his criminal net,
yesterday narrated how he often pretends he wants to collect the phone
numbers of his victims only to snatch the phones before zooming off in
his posh car.
Habib made the confession to Saturday Telegraph at the Eleyele Police
Headquarters where he and 21 others were paraded for various offences
by the Police Commissioner, Mr Leye Oyebade.
According to Oyebade, Habib was arrested by men of the Special
Anti-Robbery Squad of the Command on May 2, about 3pm at Under G area of
LAUTECH in Ogbomoso. He was said to be a notorious armed robbery
suspect and rapist, who after surreptitiously dispossessing the female
students of their mobile phones and laptops, would proceed to rape some
of them at gun point.
“He is specialised in attacking and robbing students of the Ladoke
Akintola University of Technology by waylaying them along secluded
roads, as well as attacking them in their hostels. The suspect who had
snatched valuable properties including cash, phones and laptops from
students at gun point, was arrested in his criminal hideout by the
operatives”.
