The former Delta State Governor, Dr
Emmanuel Uduaghan, has been named in the ongoing Diezani-Allison Madueke
$115million scandal with Fidelity Bank Plc to the tune of Four Hundred and
Fifty Million Naira (N450million).
It was gathered that the said money
was received by the Delta State Commissioner of Finance, Chief David Edevbie, former
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of the State, Chief Edwin Uzor and
Chief Ndidi Elumelu, a former member of House of Representatives.
A source said that the men who were
invited to the EFCC office at Port Harcourt, Rivers State, confessed to have
collected the sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Million Naira only (N450million)
from the Nnebisi Branch of Fidelity Bank, Delta State and handed it over to the
Fmr. Governor for disbursement to the local governments during the 2015
General elections.
They further said that they acted on
the instructions of their boss, Uduaghan.
They alleged that Uduaghan ordered
them to receive the money from the bank.
Confirming the report, the EFCC
spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said: “They
will be in court as soon as investigations are completed.”
