The shooting and subsequent death of Saka caused commercial activities to come to a halt, with many traders locking their shops. Many of them said they were fearful of a reprisal.

Yesterday, Saka’s bloodstains were visibly seen at the spot where he was shot. Eye witnesses disclosed that his corpse had been moved to the mortuary.

Bayo said: “Initially, we didn’t know what was happening till sounds of gunshots rented the air. We had to run to safe our lives. When the dust settled, we realised that cult members had attacked and killed somebody. The cult members disappeared before the arrival of policemen to the scene.”
Another student, Aisha, said that Saka was killed close to Ultimate Hotel, near Deeper Life bus stop. She alleged that he was also a member of Aiye confraternity.
Aisha added: “I don’t know why they killed him, but I know his members won’t rest until they have avenged his death. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police should come to our rescue in this community.”
A resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said last year, cultists and their wars, made the community too hot for them. He noted that fear has taken over residents in the community.
“It is as if police in Lagos have lost control of cultist activities in our area. A barber was killed at Cele bus stop. They also killed two other persons at Vespa bus stop,” he said.
He further noted: “We’re tired of all these unnecessary killings. Government should act fast. We can no longer sleep with our eyes closed.”
