Five people injured, 25 cars vehicles damages in Lagos

Five people were injured and 25 vehicles damaged after two rival gangs clashed at the Mushin area of Lagos State on Monday night.

Residents said that the clash between the rival hoodlums started at Osmask Hotel at Abiodun Street and extended to other part of the streets.
The hoodlums destroyed about 25 vehicles parked and looted shop.
The clashed started around 11:30pm when some hoodlums allegedly from Johnson Street, for reasons yet unknown, attacked a rival group from Coker Street, while they were relaxing at Osmask Hotel.

A resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said: “What I heard was that some hoodlums from Johnson Street, with support of some hoodlums from Fadeyi boys, attacked those from Coker who were enjoying themselves at a hotel in the neighbourhood. Some people, who were still outside when the incident started, were robbed of their belongings. Now we cannot trade. We’re afraid of reprisal attacks. We learnt they said they are coming back to kill some of the hoodlums in Coker Street.”
When our correspondent visited the streets, shattered of the windscreen of vehicles littered the ground.
Ansar-ru-deen Society of Nigeria Missionary bus was not spare in the damage. Alhaji Luqman Ajani, a member of the Islamic organization said: “We are tired of crisis in Mushin. We want a lasting solution to the fracas. We are not safe in Mushin. Look at the level of damage done to the various vehicles parked on the streets. We’re tired of all this stupidity; where do they expect those whose vehicles were damaged to get money and buy a new windscreen?”
Mr.  Saheed Bello, an automobile mechanic whose workshop was also attacked said: “Three of my customers vehicles parked in my workshop were damaged. I was at home when I received a call that the hoodlums had gone on the rampage. When I got to my workshop, I discovered that cars I was working on, no longer had windscreen. They were all damaged beyond recognition. My colleagues and I in my workshop had reported the matter to Alakara Police and Olosan Police Stations.”
He appealed to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, to deploy police patrol teams to the streets, to forestall further break down of law and orders.
When the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Kenneth Nwosu was contacted to confirm the story, he did not reply to the text message sent to his phone.
