As part of measures to adequately secure the March 28 Presidential and
National Assembly elections, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr.
Suleiman Abba, has put some special units of the Nigeria Police on
standby duties.
They are the 59 Squadrons of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 19
Counter-Terrorism Units (CTUs), as well as 12 Special Protection Units
(SPUs).
Abba, made the announcement Tuesday in Abuja, at a meeting with the 59
Squadron Commanders across the country and heads of CTUs and SPUs.
