Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has taken over the
investigation of the recent abduction of former Minister of State for
Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, who disclosed this
to journalists in Abeokuta, also revealed how suspected fraudsters
attempted to swindle him and security agents during the abduction saga.
Ali spoke shortly after a meeting of the state Police Community
Relations Committee (PCRC) to herald the 2016 PCRC Week in Abeokuta.
The commissioner said that seven suspects were already in police
custody, including the kingpin and two major suspects transferred to
Abuja.
He said: “They (suspects) have been transferred to Abuja and the IG
crack team (members) are working on them and I want to tell you that
they are cracking the case itself. “We have seven suspects altogether;
we have four here and three in Abuja. While Abuja is working on the
other ones, we are working on the ones picked here in the state. So, we
are making headway too.”
