Housewife accused of lesbianism, disappears

The police in Lagos State are  investigating a case of lesbianism , involving a woman , who has been on the run.

The woman  , Abiola Ogunwale, was allegedly enmeshed in lesbianism  act, which is a crime in Nigeria. Ogunwale has been disappeared since the act was discovered.

A police source, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident,  adding that the lady and her partner were involved in the act. The police source refused to mention the name of the supposed sex partner of Ogunwale.

The source said: "The matter was reported with us and we have began investigations into the alleged lesbianism acts by the two women. We have identified one of them."

It is believed that Ogunwale may have escaped from Nigeria , after it occurred to her that she might be arrested .

The police are also on the trail of the yet to be identified partner of the woman ,who was said to have gone into hiding .

The husband of the alleged lesbian ,who spoke under the condition of anonymity ,said: :" I don't t know what the police are saying  My wife is not in Nigeria at the moment.  I don't know how they got their report that she is a lesbian and that she has a partner,  but she is my wife and to the best of my knowledge , I have not seen anything like that with her."

When asked if he would allow his wife to appear  before the police, he said " I don' t just know yet  but the police should do their investigations right."

Nigerian lawmakers have repeatedly kicked against same sex marriage, lesbianism and homosexuality, decreeing them as capital offence, which will attrack capital punishment.
